Here are the reasons, why you should watch ‘The Graduate’ –

  • Based on the novel of the same name by Charles Webb, ‘The Graduate’ represents the middle stage, the time in-between of a teenager becoming a man. 
  • Benjamin Braddock, played by Dustin Hoffman, is a carefree young man who comes back to his hometown, after completing his graduation. Life becomes topsy-turvy when Ben ends up falling for both Mrs Robinson and her daughter.
  • Representing the confusion and dilemma, that often a young man goes through, about life in general, ‘The Graduate’ is one of the finest comedies of the sixties, featuring the iconic line – ‘Mrs Robinson, Are you trying to seduce me?’
  • The film received seven nominations at the Academy Awards, including the big five, eventually getting one, with director Mike Nichols winning the best director award.
